Qatar actively participated in the 31st ministerial meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Electricity and Water Cooperation Committee, held in Manama, Bahrain. The meeting, which focused on enhancing collaboration among GCC countries, was attended by Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, who led the Qatari delegation.
The primary agenda of the discussions was to strengthen regional cooperation on electricity and water security. Key topics addressed included enhancing regional electricity interconnectivity, ensuring water security, and managing the rising demand for energy across the GCC member states.
Participants in the meeting reviewed the progress made since the previous session, highlighting the need for increased coordination among the member countries to tackle regional challenges effectively. The discussions underscored the importance of collective efforts in the energy and water sectors to ensure sustainable development and security.
