Trump Touts ‘Great Deal for Israel’ as He Pushes Gaza Ceasefire

Date:

US President Donald Trump is championing a new peace initiative for Gaza, which he has labeled a “great deal for Israel,” as efforts to end the prolonged conflict reach a critical stage. The proposal, which has reportedly been accepted in principle by Hamas, aims to secure the release of Israeli hostages and establish a framework for long-term stability in the region.
The plan’s progress was underscored by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who announced that the deal is “90 per cent” finalized. He confirmed that Hamas has given its basic approval to the Trump-led proposal, paving the way for detailed logistical planning for the hostage exchange. This development marks the most significant breakthrough in negotiations since the war began two years ago.
While promoting the deal, Trump has adopted a firm position against Hamas. He has warned the militant group of “complete obliteration” should they fail to cooperate and cede power in Gaza. This dual approach of diplomacy backed by a credible threat aims to ensure that the terms of the agreement are fully met without delay.
The specifics of the deal involve a phased Israeli withdrawal to the “yellow line,” a tactical position held in mid-August, in return for the complete release of all hostages. Rubio emphasized that this is the first and most urgent objective, and the success of these initial steps will be a clear indicator of Hamas’s intentions.
Furthermore, the American diplomatic effort has secured alleged support from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the broader vision, including an end to the bombing in Gaza. With both sides seemingly on board, the focus now shifts to the technical teams tasked with turning this high-level agreement into an actionable reality on the ground.
