Qatar has firmly rejected accusations from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who claimed that the Gulf state is orchestrating a campaign to sway global public opinion against Israel. The allegations were made during Netanyahu’s address to the UN General Assembly.
In response, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, dismissed the accusations as an attempt to deflect attention from Israel’s own policies and actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the humanitarian impact of those actions. Al Ansari emphasized that the shifts in global public opinion toward Israel are being driven by direct observations of events on the ground, rather than any campaign led by Qatar.
Al Ansari urged Israel to reconsider its policies, adhere to international law, and accept responsibility for the outcomes of its actions, rather than attributing criticism to Qatar or other nations. He underscored that the responsibility for addressing global criticism lies with Israel, given the circumstances in the Palestinian territories.
