Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, recently engaged in separate telephone discussions with Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Tarek Mitri and Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop to address bilateral relations and pressing regional issues.
In his conversation with Lebanon’s Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Al Khulaifi emphasized Qatar’s strong condemnation of ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanese soil. He expressed concern over the expansion of ground operations in southern Lebanon and attacks that have impacted civilians, describing these actions as a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and a breach of international law. Al Khulaifi called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, adherence to the ceasefire agreement, and the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. Moreover, he urged the international community to act decisively to protect Lebanon’s territorial integrity and halt violations.
The Qatari minister reiterated Qatar’s unwavering support for Lebanon and its people, particularly in light of the ongoing crisis that threatens regional security and stability. Al Khulaifi’s statements underscore Qatar’s commitment to maintaining peace and supporting Lebanon through these challenging times.
During a separate call with Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop, Dr. Al Khulaifi discussed opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchanged insights on developments in the African Sahel region. He expressed Qatar’s solidarity with Mali, offering support for the country’s efforts to ensure security, stability, and the safety of its citizens.
These discussions highlight Qatar’s active role in fostering diplomatic relations and addressing significant regional challenges, demonstrating its commitment to supporting peace and stability in both the Middle East and Africa.
