Qatar has issued a strong condemnation of the recent ballistic missile attacks by the Houthi group targeting the Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs described these attacks as violations of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and international law, emphasizing the inadmissibility of targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
In a statement, Qatar’s foreign ministry called for an immediate cessation of such actions, reinforcing its stance against attacks that endanger civilian lives. The statement also highlighted Qatar’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its support for the kingdom’s efforts to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
The Ministry underscored that the security of Saudi Arabia is intrinsically linked to the security of Qatar and other member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). This assertion reflects the interconnected nature of security concerns among GCC countries, which often face similar regional threats.
