Qatar Sees 64% Surge in Cargo Throughput in July

Qatar experienced a major boost in port activity in July, with over 234,000 tonnes of general and bulk cargo handled—an impressive 64% increase compared to June.

The number of ships docking at Qatari ports rose to 268, marking a 16% rise. Standard container handling reached 116,970 units for the month, reflecting steady growth in containerized trade.

Significant increases were also reported in key cargo categories. Building materials surged by 105% to 52,677 tonnes, livestock handling soared by 86% to 28,250 heads, and the handling of vehicles and equipment climbed 30% to 12,798 units.

These figures reflect growing trade activity and infrastructure expansion in Qatar’s maritime logistics sector.
